Update on the Importation of Live Poultry and Their Products from South Africa

 

The Ministry Of Agricultural Development and Food Security wishes to inform the general public, stakeholders and the farming community of the following importation restriction imposed on live poultry and their products,

  1. The ban on importation of live poultry and their fresh products from South Africa is still in force except from registered Avian Influenza free compartments in that country. This ban excludes cooked poultry meat.
  1. The ban on in-transit movement of fresh poultry products, originating from other countries and transiting through South Africa, in sealed containers is also lifted.
  1. The ban on importation of poultry feed and poultry litter, direct from manufactures is lifted.

 

The public will be updated of new developments regarding the situation.
